Fund Description

Under normal market conditions, the fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in equity securities issued by companies located in emerging market countries. It may invest up to 35% of its total assets in securities of companies whose business activities are in the same industry, to the extent that such industry accounts for more than 15% of the fund's primary benchmark.

Jade Huang is a vice president and portfolio manager for Calvert Research and Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eaton Vance Management specializing in responsible and sustainable investing across global capital markets. She is responsible for managing the suite of Calvert Responsible Indices, including the index construction processes, as well as developing new investment products at Calvert. She joined Calvert Research and Management in 2016. Jade began her career in the investment management industry in 2005. Before joining Calvert Research and Management, she was a portfolio manager with Calvert Investments. Previously, she was an investment analyst at Microvest, an asset management firm specializing in impact investing, and led the certification department at Fair Trade USA. Jade earned a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.A. in international finance and economics from Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She is a CFA charterholder.

Marshall L. Stocker is a vice president of Eaton Vance Management, global macro equity strategist and portfolio manager on Eaton Vance’s global income team. He is responsible for buy and sell decisions, portfolio construction and risk management for equity assets managed by the global income team, including an equity fund investing in emerging and frontier markets. He focuses on global equity markets and political-economic policies affecting the equity asset class. He joined Eaton Vance in 2013. Marshall began his career in the investment management industry in 1999. Before joining Eaton Vance, he served as co-founder and managing member of Emergent Property Advisors, LLC. Previously, Marshall was a portfolio manager with Choate Investment Advisors and Sanderson & Stocker. Marshall earned a B.S. and an MBA from Cornell University, where he was a Park Leadership Fellow, and a Ph.D in economics at Universidad Francisco Marroquin. He is also a CFA charterholder and is conversant in German and Arabic. He is a benefactor of the Cato Institute, Foundation for Economic Education and the Atlas Network. In 2017, he became a member of the Mont Pelerin Society. Marshall’s commentary has appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Financial Times and The Washington Post. He has also been featured on Bloomberg Radio, Fox Business News, and Nikkei CNBC Japan.

Christopher Madden is a vice president and portfolio manager for Calvert Research and Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eaton Vance Management specializing in responsible and sustainable investing across global capital markets.
