Check out our precious metals page here.

Individual investors are piling into silver with unprecedented intensity, creating what analysts describe as the most crowded commodity trade in the market. Retail investors have purchased $921.8 million in silver-backed ETFs over the last 30 days alone, with buying activity now running at 2.1 times the three-month moving average. The sustained demand has pushed cumulative retail buying past the peaks of the 2021 silver squeeze, and the fervor shows no signs of abating as silver trades near record highs above $90 per ounce.

This isn’t a brief speculative frenzy. Retail investors have bought the largest physical-backed silver ETF, SLV, for 169 consecutive days—the longest streak on record. The iShares Silver Trust recorded $69.2 million in retail inflows on a single Wednesday in January, marking the largest day of retail buying second only to 2021. The persistence and scale of these flows suggest something deeper than momentum chasing is driving retail interest in the white metal.
